Non-Government Organizations and Sources
Center on Media, Crime and Justice
at John Jay College
The Crime Report is one of our favorite sources. They describe themselves as a non-profit, multimedia information and networking resource staffed by working journalists and providing reporting, commentary and analysis of crime news. Like many sites, theirs is organized to cater to newsy topics—they update very regularly. If you use the search function, however, you might be able to find their reporting on a topic of interest.
The Vera Institute
The Vera Solutions and Research Page
The Vera Institute is another organization that provides good information on a number of topics. They focus on issues related to mass incarceration and overcriminalization.
